Domain Name Registration

The Domain name is the address of the website. For example www.domain-name.com.au is a domain name. Here domain-name.com.au points to the server IP address.

Whenever we access www.domain-name.com.au using a web browser (e.g. Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox etc.), it reaches the particular server (where site data and pages are stored) address & pulls the data to our computer.

E-Wave Web Design registers and manages your domain name while you maintain the ownership on the domain name.

Once we register the domain you will receive the access code to control and monitor the domain name.

We can work with your existing domain names or use another registrar on your request.

Eligibility and Allocation Policy (Australian Domain Names)

• Domain name license are allocated on a first come, first served basis. It is not possible to pre-register or otherwise reserve a domain name.
• The domain name license period is fixed at 2 years. It is not possible to license a domain name for a shorter or longer period.
• Domain names in the com.au 2LD must be:
  
  • An exact match, abbreviation or acronym of the resistant name or trademark; or
  • Otherwise closely and substantially connected to the registrant.

Composition of Domain Names

Domain names must:

• Be at least 2 characters long;
• Contain only letters (a-z), numbers (0-9) and hyphens (-), or a combination of these;
• Start and end with a number or a letter, not a hyphen; and
• Not contain hyphens in the third and fourth position (eg. ab--cd.com.au).
